Hot Stone Massage
Basalt stones are made from lava rock which retains heat longer than ordinary rocks. The smooth stones are covered in water in a hot stone warmer (like a roaster oven) and take about 30 minutes to reach the proper temperature. The heat from the stones helps relieve muscle tension and pain. Hot stone massage can increase range of motion from tight muscles and increases blood flow.

The therapist holds the stones in her hands and applies pressure while gliding the stones along your muscles. Some stones may be placed along different muscles allowing the heat to loosen them up.
The calming effects can help promote better sleep as well as reduce stress and anxiety. The stones placed along chakras of the body can help restore clogged energy too!
Make sure that you do not currently have a sunburn, high or low blood pressure (not medicated), or are currently experiencing neuropathy (numbness in your limbs). Do not come in on a full stomach. Speak up if the stones feel too warm.
