Chemical Peel
Chemical Peels treat skin concerns from deep within the layers of the skin. Most forms of exfoliations are on the surface layer of the skin. Chemical peels help improve aging skin, breakout-prone skin, even out acne scars, reduce pore size, fade sun damage/dark spots, and tighten sagging skin. For best results we recommend chemical peels are done in a series of 3-6 appointments. PCA chemical peels are created with the client in mind. Made with the newest technology PCA peels are considered progressive rather than traditionally aggressive. PCA peels increase cell turn over, boost exfoliation, and breakdown the surface layer for a smoother younger complexion. Receiving them in regular intervals gives the skin time to heal rather than heavy peeling all at once.

Clients will leave with peel still on their skin, our moisturizer neutralizes the peel making it safe for the client and wont leave your skin red or irritated after the treatment. Clients receiving any type of peel need to stay out of the sun and wear SPF daily as the peel does make you more sensitive to the sun as most exfoliations do. We recommend doing peels in fall through early spring as that is when the sun is its least aggressive. Going in the sun or heating your body too much (saunas, hot tubs etc.) after a peel may cause more damage to skin such as dark spots.
- Diminishes fine lines
- Reduces appearances of dark spots from sun damage and acne
- Improves appearance of breakout prone skin
- Brightens dull looking skin
For best results we recommend coming in with freshly cleaned skin.
Post-Treatment Tips: Make sure to keep skin hydrated and wear lots of SPF after a chemical peel. Refrain from over heating the body in any way for 2 days (ex. working out, hot showers, hot tubs/saunas, steam from cooking or direct heat from a hair dryer) overheating treated area could cause hyperpigmentation (dark spots). Do not use any other forms or exfoliation for at least a week after. Your esthetician will talk with you about the appropriate at home skin care to maximize the benefits of a peel.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
How much downtime is expected with a peel?
What makes PCA peels so progressive is that there is little to no downtime! You could even receive a peel on your lunch break and return to work right after. You will be dewy and possibly a bit red but other than that you can continue doing what you need to get done in the day. Most clients find they do not need to apply makeup after a peel, as the skin will be smooth and radiant. If you would like to apply makeup we do recommend waiting at least 15 minutes so the pH of the skin can stabilize.
When should I start seeing my skin "peel"?
All clients will have a different experience when they receive a peel but usually you will see light flaking around day 2 or 3. PCA peels are made so you only visibly peel lightly.
How long will "peeling" last?
It is possible to see flaking for up to a week after your service but usually it should stop after day 4 or 5.
Does a peel sting?
All clients have different skin sensitivities, but yes, peels can be slightly irritating. While the product is being put on you may feel a mild burning or stinging which will subside before you leave the treatment room.
Can someone who is frequently in the sun still get a peel?
Yes, as long as they follow the proper protocol, using SPF daily and avoiding sun for at least 2 weeks before and after a peel. We recommend at least an SPF 30 or higher.
Can I work out after I get a peel?
No, for best result wait at least 48 hours before you do anything that will increase your body temperature (ex. Working out, Sauna/Hot tub, or Steam from cooking).
Can pregnant or lactating women receive a peel?
No, but we do offer other services for women who are pregnant or lactating.
Can some using Retin-A or Accutane get a peel?
We ask if you are using Retin-A to stop use 5 days prior to peel and 5 days after peel to avoid potential irritation of the skin. Clients using Accutane tend to have sensitive and dry skin. Peels could tend to be a bit harsh on the client's skin. Let your esthetician know prior to treatment if you are using either product.
